Hello,
I've downloaded the x64 vista 5384 and can not get it to install. I am trying to install on a Via(8237)raid 0. I boot from the dvd and get the "windows copying files" screen then goes to a black screen for a second then i get the stop error screen with code 0x000001e. I then tried in safe mode it shows the files loading and the last file is disk.sys then i get the blue screen again. It appears this is related to my disk system.
I seem to remember getting this same error when installing XP if i didn't load my sata drivers during install. There appears to be no way of doing this for Vista until I get past this initial screen. Will I need to reconfigure my discs without raid to get this to install(not ideal). Any other suggestions?
